We are pleased to announce that the JDM Technology Group is growing again through the acquisition of three distinct New Zealand construction software providers: CostCon, Nimbus Software, and Plusfactor.
CostCon
Based in Christchurch, CostCon offers a fully integrated accounting ERP and job costing system geared to contractors in New Zealand. The acquisition continues the JDM Group’s global Buy and Build strategy to acquire construction software companies and grow them within the group. The CostCon team will continue to operate as a separate business from their Christchurch office on the South Island. David Johnstone will lead the business as Managing Director, moving from his former role as Business Development Manager.
Nimbus Software
Founded in 1978, Nimbus offers business management software to customers involved in quoting and contracting with a focus on electrical, plumbing, and road contractors. The acquisition continues the JDM Group’s global Buy and Build strategy to acquire construction software companies and grow them within the group. The Nimbus team will continue to operate as a separate business from their Nelson office on the South Island and the current Managing Director, Kaye Farrer, will continue to lead the business.
Plusfactor
Based in Auckland, Plusfactor Group Limited is a leading provider of accounting and job costing software to the construction market in New Zealand. The acquisition continues the JDM Group’s global Buy and Build strategy to acquire construction software companies and grow them within the group. Plusfactor will continue as a separate brand and its team will join with Christchurch-based CostCon. David Johnstone, the new Managing Director of CostCon, will lead both CostCon and Plusfactor.
Acquiring CostCon, Nimbus, and Plusfactor further strengthens our position in the Australia and New Zealand construction software market, adding New Zealand-based teams with a presence in Christchurch, Nelson, and Auckland and New Zealand-specific products geared to local requirements. These acquisitions reinforce our locally-led, globally-supported principle of local teams addressing the needs of local customers with support from the larger group and add multiple product offerings suited to different tiers of customers to the group.
Marc Hemmett, Managing Director of CSSP, is moving into a regional leadership role for the JDM businesses in Australia and New Zealand including these new acquisitions while Phil Johnstone is becoming Regional CFO for Australia and New Zealand. Marc and Phil will help bring CostCon, Nimbus, and Plusfactor into the group.
As you know, the JDM Group is a private, professionally-managed, family company. That makes us different: our focus is on the long-term, with the goal of building strong, successful companies based on great teams, great customer relationships, great products, and enabling individual companies to succeed.
We are pleased to welcome the CostCon, Nimbus, and Plusfactor teams to the JDM Group and look forward to working with them and you to create the future of the construction software industry.
