Cheops AI – A More Connected Future for Cheops
AI is changing the way we work, but for construction businesses, the real opportunity goes beyond simply introducing another AI tool.
Project information already lives across multiple places. There’s financial and project data in Cheops, conversations in email and Teams, documents in Microsoft 365 or Google, and information held across other business applications. The challenge AND opportunity is bringing that information together in a way that is useful, secure and understands the context of the business.
That’s the thinking behind Cheops AI – an exciting new AI initiative being developed by CSSP in partnership with AI WorkPlace.
Connecting AI To The Way You Already Work
Cheops AI is being designed as a private AI environment that connects directly with Cheops, but its potential extends much further.
Through integrations with platforms such as Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and Google, as well as other compatible business applications, Cheops AI has the potential to bring information from across the business into one intelligent working environment.
Instead of AI sitting separately from the systems your teams use every day, the aim is to give it the context to help people work across them.
Importantly, this isn’t about replacing Cheops, Microsoft 365, Google or the other applications a business relies on. It’s about creating an intelligent, secure layer across them.
What Could This Mean on a Construction Project?
Consider a Project Manager preparing for a monthly project review. Currently, getting the full picture might involve reviewing project financials in Cheops, checking emails for recent correspondence, looking through Teams updates and finding relevant documents before preparing a management report.
With Cheops AI, the Project Manager could instead ask:
“Give me an update on the Smith Street project. Highlight any significant cost movements, outstanding variations, recent project issues and anything that could impact forecast margin.”
The opportunity is for AI to draw on relevant Cheops project information alongside connected business information to help create that overview, giving the Project Manager a faster starting point for review and decision-making.
Or consider a commercial issue that has developed over several weeks. Rather than searching through an email chain and then separately reviewing the project in Cheops, a user could ask Cheops AI to:
“Help summarise project correspondence alongside current project information and identify key issues requiring attention.”
That’s where the potential becomes particularly valuable: connecting the numbers with the conversations and information surrounding them to present a fuller position, more efficiently.
Less Searching, More Doing
For CSSP, the goal isn’t AI for the sake of AI. It’s about looking at where construction teams spend (and waste) time today – searching for information, compiling reports, moving between systems and repeating administrative tasks – and asking how AI can make that work easier.
In the future, Cheops AI could very efficiently help teams analyse project information, identify trends and variances, prepare reports and financial models, work with company documents and templates, and create role-specific AI tools or ‘Personas’ that understand the context of their work. This could save hours of work and reduce stress and project fatigue significantly.
And because construction businesses deal with commercially sensitive information, privacy, permissions and control are fundamental to the approach. Cheops AI is being developed as a private, governed environment, with access controls and the ability to maintain existing Microsoft 365 and Google permissions when using those integrations.
Help CSSP Shape What Comes Next
Cheops AI represents an exciting next step in how CSSP is thinking about the future of construction project and financial management, and we want our clients to help shape it.
We are inviting existing Cheops clients to participate in the BETA program, with a 60-day trial of the AI WorkPlace platform and access to the Cheops Persona. Your experience and feedback will help CSSP explore where AI can deliver the greatest practical value for construction businesses.
Ready To See What’s Possible?
Book a Cheops AI demo or if you are an existing client, register your interest in joining the BETA program and help shape the next evolution of Cheops.
