Founded in 1973 by Dirk Reitsma as a largely residential builder, it gradually broadened its range of expertise to include churches and schools, and later commercial, industrial, retirement living and medium density residential construction. In recent years it hasspecialised in school and retail automotive construction including additions & alterations as well as new works.

Contracts are generally conducted in and around the metropolitan area of Sydney and typically range in value up to $12m.
Work is acquired through competitive tendering, negotiation and referrals. Reitsma Constructions prides itself in having long standing relationships with a number of clients and architects as well as skilled tradespeople and suppliers.

A significant number of the projects are Design & Construct working in conjunction with selected consultants to deliver complete
turnkey projects, taking proposals from pre-development application right through to occupancy. Reitsma also have a proven Construction Management/Building contract for cost plus applications, as well as long experience in various forms of architect supervised contracts.

Director Pieter Van Zwieten, discusses the reasons for selecting Cheops over the competitors in the market and why they decided to replace Timberline. “Shortfalls in their existing application were becoming an issue and the main areas of concern were it was complex to use, everything was a module, the reports where complex, it appeared to Accounting software driven and not management driven, there was limited Australian based support and programming was limited while the system was also slow”.
